William Shakespeare – My Mistress’ Eyes Are Nothing Like The Sun

My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun

Coral is far more red than her lips’ red

If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun

If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head

I have seen roses damasked, red and white

But no such roses see I in her cheeks

And in some perfumes is there more delight

Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks

I love to hear her speak, yet well I know

That music hath a far more pleasing sound

I grant I never saw a goddess go

My mistress when she walks treads on the ground

And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare

As any she belied with false compare

Kahlil Gibran – On Children

Your children are not your children

They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself

They come through you but not from you

And though they are with you yet they belong not to you

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,

For they have their own thoughts

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For they souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,

Which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams

You may strive to be like them,

But seek not to make them like you,

For life gos not backward not tarries with yesterday

You are the bows from which your children

As living arrows are sent forth

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,

And He bends you with His might

That His arrows may go swift and far

Let our bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness

For even asHe love the arrow that flies,

So He love also the bow that is table

Pablo Neruda – Your Laughter

Take bread away from me, if you wish,

Take air away, but

Do not take from me your laughter

Do not take away the rose,

The lance flower that you pluck,

The water that suddenly bursts forth in joy,

The sudden wave of silver born in you

My struggle is hars and I come back

With eyes tired at times from having seen

The unchanging earth,

But when your laughter enters

It rises to the sky seeking me

And it opens for me all the doors of life

My love, in the darkest hour

Your laughter opens,

And if suddenly yo se emy blood staining

The stones of the street,

Laugh, because your laughter

Will be for my hands

Like a fresh sword

Next to the sea in the autumn,

Your laughter must raise

Its foamy cascade

And in the spring, lobe,

I want your laughter like

The flower I was waiting for,

The blue flower, the rose

Of my echoing country

Laugh at the night

At the day, at the moon,

Laugh at the twisted street of the island

Laugh at this clumsy boy who loves you

But when I open my eyes and close them,

When my steps go,

When my steps return,

Deny me bread, air, light, spring,

But never your laughter

For I would die

Itulah 3 penyair dunia dengan karyanya yang sangat populer. Masih banyak pula masterpiece lainnya yang akan membuat kalian terkagum-kagum. (mnd/ian)
